PINOT NOIR

Verse 1

A tear of joy my eye lets loose is reflected in the glass
Which holds the holy, garnet juice that embodies a season past.

Chorus

Better than that Irish whiskey
Resting in a jar
My beloved Pinot Noir

Verse 2

Dark cherry, bright acidity, a hint of forest floor
Thin skinned in its humility. Who could ask for anything more?

Chorus

Better than an expensive
Cuban cigar,
My beloved Pinot Noir.

Verse 3

Delicate fruit, a mix of clones, blended yet independent
But mix some dijon and pomard, they taste truly transcendent.

Chorus

Better than a fancy
Italian sports car,
My beloved Pinot Noir

Bridge

These black cone cluster beauties hand like earrings from the vine,
Hand picked and expressed, then hear them moan and whine.
Ferment in oak, then age. Do not describe by gender.
Cuz tonight is gonna’ lead to a Pinot Noir bender…

Verse 4

It washes over my mid palate from Burgungy to the great WIllamette,
And places along the coast of Cali, from Edna to the Russian River Valley,
Bien Nacido, Santa Lucia, just a few places on the map.
Under the fog of Sonoma, and the Van Duzer Gap.

Chorus

A living breathing memory,
Both near and afar,
My beloved Pinot Noir.

Verse 5

A tear of joy my eye lets loose is reflected in the glass
Which holds the holy garnet juice that embodies a season past.

Chorus

Better than that Irish whiskey
Resting in a jar,
My beloved Pinot Noir.
